RHG Happy Hazy memories from the web.

Heres what people say they remember from the Red Hand Gang.

All I remember is the series of episodes involving the kidnapped boy -- at one point he drops his baseball cards on the ground, to leave a clue behind; in another scene, gang member Jolie is on a ladder peeking through a window, and almost gets caught when the shade accidentally rolls up.

CTV: This is probably from one of the five episodes of the first story.

I remember when the girl was spying on someone and she had to pretend to be a mannequin in front of the bad guys.

I think they had walkie-talkies too.

CTV: Not sure about this one because we have been unable to confirm it.

The last episode dealt with a zoo where a monkey could speak sign language, and the girl in the gang spoke to it.

CTV: This is probably from one of the last episodes where the gang use a trained monkey to commit a robbery. You know what they say, never work with children or animals!

They were able to follow a truck by drawing a symbol of a hand in red marker on the back.

I also remember when Frankie was hiding behind a couch with some bad guys in the same room. They cut there, until next week.

CTV: Yes, they always did that, right at the pinacle moment!

Ghost in the cellar

CTV: This one is difficult, but it could be from the first series of episodes, where the gang makes the house appear haunted to scare off the kidnappers. See below.

I always remember the episode where they tried to make a house seem haunted by rigging up loads of traps, particuarly the oil and popcorn in the lampshade.

Do you remember the one with crackling ghost in it and there are an old couple who are getting really scared coz it is comin down their back garden and start closing the curtains?

CTV: Yes, that episode is called "Beware the Red Hand Gang".

Coolest thing I remember was the theme tune, and a story that had something to do with a zoo being used as cover for some dodgy operation or other??

CTV: For some reason, this very catchy theme tune is in the minds of many people. You can download it from TV Cream in the Themes section.

Remember the little kid who couldnt stand on his skateboard on his tummy?

Red Hand gang? All I remember is that one episode where some lad was stuck in a lift or something, he'd been captured by this couple, the woman of which couldn't stand milk.

CTV: Hmmm, sounds bizzare!! Are you sure it was the Red Hand Gang?

The Afro kid with glasses was 'Doc', his real name was something like 'Earl Something III (three)', very strange... cool show. One story had a deaf girl and a chimp involved in a robbery, one of the others had a boat in the docks.... The boat story was in the titles when the lead boy hides in the bin and the crook dumps rubbish on him.... funny what rubbish you remember!

CTV: Everyone remembers that charachter, the actors name was James Bond III.

I remember the gang rescuing the kidnapped pro-footballer O.K Oakins. They left a walkie-talkie underneath the bandages and got him to speak into it to pretend he was still there in the warehouse - one of the villans actually says "what's wrong with his voice?" - the other says "it's just the bandages
over his mouth". All 5 of the Red Hand Gang should be working for the FBI now!

All I can remember is where a gang kidnapped a kid, who like the girl was equally irritable. I recall he was in a room with a sofa blocking the door.

There was Jr Jnr or sommat. He was the guy with the Chopper and black t-shirt and was a bit of all right as I remember. Not the same looks as Scott Bao, but pretty froar all the same. The girl with the ugly dungarees was called Joanne I think. She had a whingeing younger brother. Then there was the smartie, the main leader of the Red Hand Gang, who usually had a light blue shirt and was later in another US import called "Whiz Kids" about computer whizzes...

Do you remember the intro with all of the kids on skate boards, and at the end there was a little guy who was on his belly, skating. Cracks me up.

I remember being given a walkie-talkie for christmas and being utterly disapointed that the sound was almost impossible to deceifer from across the road, I thought, how come those on the red hand gang seem perfectly clear when sent from miles away!

Do any episodes still exist? If I remember rightly, the show has not been on TV since the summer of 1985.

CTV: Sorry, we only know of one episode that is in circulation with collectors. We do not have any copies of this programme.
