The Red Hand Gang. Filming locations. The Red Hand Gang was filmed all around the Los Angeles area. It was natural to film there because that is where D'Angelo-Bullock-Allen Productions was based and where William D'Angelo lived. By watching the episodes and looking for clues it is possible to discover where the episodes were filmed. Here's what we found out... First Adventure - Kidnap. Some of the scenes including the rescue scene in the first adventure, in which the gang rescue a kidnapped boy from a boat are filmed in Los Angeles Harbour. The shots used in the opening credits are filmed in and around the same area, near a road called South Seaside Avenue near San Pedro, California. One memorable scene where is shot on Windward Avenue, Venice, California. Map of Windward Avenue, Venice, California (Google Maps)
Second Adventure - Jewel Theft. In the second adventure, where the gang help to foil a jewel theft from a charity auction at a hotel. We suspect that the hotel used is the Ritz-Carlton Huntingdon Hotel in Pasadena, California. At the time of the filming, the hotel was known as The Hotel Wentworth, but it closed in 1985 and reopened after extensive renovation as the Ritz-Carlton Huntingdon Hotel. In the episodes of this adventure, the hotel is referred to as The Park Hotel. At the beginning of the first episodes of this adventure, the gang can be seen playing football in what appears to be a park, however, this is suspect of being the hotel grounds.
