Talking of after school programmes set up north, we must not forget to mention Jossy's Giants.

Hardly classic viewing but pure stereotypical comedy. The programme is about a football team set in the town of Glipton (outside Newcastle). The team is headed by bumbling football coach Jossy Blair. Jossy is always being chased by Glenda Fletcher (Jenny McCracken) and the lads in the team are always chasing the women instead of keeping their eyes on the ball. Shown bottom from left to right

Julie Foy (Tracey), went on to star in Coronation Street, Mark Gillard as Ross, Paul Kirkbright (Ross), Jenny Luckraft (Shaz). Also starred Jim Barclay as the tracksuit wearing Jossy.
